O FlightHistory of O Flight : In late 1918, the Royal Air Force formed a series of long range reconnaissance flights for the purposes of strategic information gathering. These were to east the pressure on the RE8 squadrons which were still awaiting the arrival of replacement Sunbeam engined Bristol Fighters. The Long Range flights were attached to an RE8 Squadron which supplied the aircrew as well the ground crew to support the Bristol Fighters.
