The American Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Woodrow Wilson are good examples of the rhetoric of politicians in and out of power. When out of power they both decried the loss of liberties to the executive and happily railed against the governing of the day. Once in power both expanded greatly the power of the executive using the excuse of emergency to circumvent the constitution; Lincoln in the suspension of habeas corpus, and Wilson with the Espionage Act's disaffection provision which allowed the executive to run rough-shod over the first amendment.
It is a political pattern we see time and time again. There is no easy answer for it in liberal democracy or republican constitutionalism. Democratic practices lead the challengers to appeal to the populism of criticism of the governing, yet the depravities of executive power then lead those same people to expand the power of the executive gregariously with little respect for the mores and conventions of constitutionalism.
If anything it is due to the power of explicit constitutionalism that liberal democracies can contain and recover from such bad governance as the constant tension from those holding power is to expand the executive to absolute power.

Most Popular Hikes in Arizona
Arizona is an outdoor state and has lots of hiking in the city and around the state. Phoenix is unusual for most cities in having several large mountains in the center of the city with great hiking. Anyone who comes to Phoenix has to do the
Echo Canyon trail on Camelback and the
Summit Hike on Squaw Peak or Piesta Peak. The views of the city, suburbs and surrounding mountains are wonderful from Camelback and Piesta Peak.
For more experienced hikers there is the McDowell Mountains in North Scottsdale that has several difficult and strenuous hikes in
Tom's Thumb and
Bell Pass. Alternatively, you can hike the highest mountain in Arizona. At 12,600 feet
Humphrey's Peak is a long and difficult hike.

Who Is Cam Riley
I am an Australian living in the United States as a permanent resident.
I am a software developer by trade and mostly work in Java and jump between middleware and front end.
I originally worked in the New York area of the United States in telecommunications before moving to Washington DC and
